What is a Guardian Home?

As we continually develop our program and this new breed, we often keep back multiple pups from a litter to watch them grow before determining which pup(s) would be best for breeding. We want each of our dogs to live their absolute best lives, and we recognize that we cannot possibly provide that for every dog that we keep back IF we are doing it alone. This is where Guardian Homes come in; they are a crucial part of everything we are able to do here!

Guardian Homes receive one of our top-quality dogs at a significant discount in exchange for keeping them intact to be a part of our breeding program. We offer these opportunities periodically for both male and female pups, and the time commitments are different for each. Both will return to us for mating (usually 3-5 days). In addition, females will return to us again in time for whelping and will remain with us through weaning and raising the puppies. For both males and females, when it is time for them to retire from breeding, we pay to have them fixed and they get to live out the rest of their lives with their forever family!

Because breeding dogs will need to return to us periodically throughout their lives, we typically require that Guardian Homes be located within ~4 hours of Roseburg, OR. We also ask that any Guardian Home dogs be kept up-to-date on Rabies, Parvo-distemper, and Bordetella vaccines at least throughout their breeding career in order to minimize risk of these illnesses being brought to our home.
